What is PCM?
PCM is process of converting analog voice single into digital data. Several things happen during the process of PCM. Analog telephone is the example of PCM. Wherever we speak in a phone it collect the analog single and at PCM box it filter out any noise and goes for a sampling process. This sampling process uses the PAM (Pulse amplitude modulation) for converting analog signals into digital signals and quantized to a series of symbols in a digital by different coding techniques. Pulse code modulation coding techniques includes return-to-zero (RZ) or non-return-to-zero (NRZ).
